How can I slow down shutter speed on a digital “auto focus “camera?

I have a point and click (digital) camera and need to take a digital picture showing “blurred” movement. Since I cannot afford to go buy a camera with manual focus, how can I adjust the shutter speed on my point and click? and without wrecking my current camera too!

How do I display on the LCD of a Canon EOS Rebel Xsi DSLR camera what I’m shooting in auto mode?

It shows the standard battery life and shots remaining, but I have to look thru the viewfinder to see what I want to shoot. In the instruction manual it shows me being able to view the subject in the LCD screen- just don’t know how to do so.

I have a canon, and it fuzzes up the picture on auto-focus?

I have a canon Powershot S3IS, and i’m trying to take a picture of a paragraph of an article in a newspaper. When i hold it over the article and it just gives a display of it on the screen, it looks crystal clear. However, when i hold it down half way to auto-focus, it makes it fuzzy and impossible to read! It does the same thing when i don’t do auto focus. How can i make it take a picture showing what it did before it fuzzed it out??
