Though there are no great changes to the 2009 Mitsubishi Eclipse you’ll see at the 2008 Chicago Auto Show, it will look more like the Evolution X — and sharing a likeness with a hero car is never a bad thing.
The split-grille schnoz that made us slightly uncomfortable in the presence of earlier Eclipse coupes and Eclipse Spyders is gone. It’s replaced by the maw of Mitsubishi’s new corporate trapezoidal grille. The retrofit suits the Eclipse, as if the car has always been meant to look this mouthy. On GT models, you’ll also note a standard set of high-intensity-discharge headlamps — a feature never before offered on Mitsu’s coupe and convertible.

the 3rd gen was by far the worst… talk about a terrible aftermarket and no tuner culture, 3rd gens were made for people who have no idea what a spark plug is and want a “cool tuner car”. 1st and 2nd gen ‘clipses (DSMs) are by far the best and fastest eclipses out there. GSX? AWD + turbo? yeah ill take that over a 6cyl pos any day

sufolite: so i have no idea what p753139 is talking about but ur trying to compare 2 TOTALLY different cars. Like literally, wow, those are so different. 1st off, where do u live? If u live where it snows at all then obviously u shouldnt get the s2k. if not, then wat do u like 2 seaters or 2+2? then think about cargo space, which s2k has almost none of. then NA vs. FI? Honda vs DSM? so many differences bro. too many for a small comment box like this.
depends if you’re a driving enthusiast or not.
i will definitely go for 09 eclipse with 4 cylinders because i like the looks of fast cars, without ever needing to go higher than 3000 rpm in the city. if you’re into driving and handling of a RWD, i will still recommend looking elsewhere, S2000 used to excite me but it hasn’t been dramatically redesigned since it’s out in 1999, even seeing the new mazda 6 on the street excites me more than a S2000, but then again,just my opinion, you’re the driver

i still think the second gen model looks best then the first, then third and now this one, but this one is winning me over very fast!
2HP, the weight that add proabaly decreases power to weight ratio, 2HP just made it slower?
4G model is ugly. 3G model is nicer.
i bought the 08 eclipse coupe just 3 weeks ago from - liquis silver with sun roof and sound sys built in, so far things seem to be just up on the run goinn so well, :)the car is nice inside and outside, attractive and just makes u feel good behind its wheels,
